“Yesterday the Secretary of Health’s Department of Auditing, Monitoring and Evaluation visited,” Pascual Torres, Siempre Unidos’ Honduran Executive Director, reported. “Minor recommendations were left to correct, but we received a 100% score on quality of services, survival indicators, patients’ adherence and retention. The day was long, passing 6pm, but it was rewarding at the end. We feel very proud, in the good sense of the word, about it.”
The visit was rigorous, Pascual told us, as the Department reviewed numerous patient charts to evaluate patient health indicators, pharmacy maintenance and mental health case management. In the end, the auditors commented on how quickly their visit went – 1 day – as compared to visits to other clinics lasting 3 days.
