Siempre Unidos advocates for the rights of people who are marginalized due to their sexual identity, profession and HIV status. Members of these groups have HIV prevalence rates that are 4% and higher.
The staff (see our nurse in blue shirt below) plays a leading role in organizing several marches a year in solidarity with people who are gay, transgender, and/or commercial sex workers. Military brigades accompany the marchers to ensure safety, a kindness repaid for our HIV education and testing of young recruits.
HIV testing and treatment are crucial to ending AIDS. So is advocating for people who live with the burden of HIV.
